Through the partnership, Cerner has developed My Anthony Medical Center Chart, an online patient portal. The patient portal is available to help you manage your care privately and securely, when it is convenient for you. Using the portal, you can view any clinic, ER, or hospital discharge information, request and manage your clinic appointments, send secure messages to your provider, view your lab results, review your medications, and see a summary of your medical information.
According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, only about 20% of family physicians were using patient portals for appointment scheduling and sharing limited information with patients in 2010. Since then, the EHR concept has become widely accepted and patients want to become more involved in their healthcare.
