Ever walk out of a doctor’s appointment thinking, “I’m not sure what all my physician told me to do? Panicked about the labs and when you would be receiving results? Or just didn’t get to ask every question you had wanted to ask?” You’re not alone.

Many people have those same fears and questions when they come out of an appointment. In today’s high-speed world, everyone wants information in the fastest and easiest way possible. Anthony Medical Center has partnered with Cerner Corporation to provide patients with an electronic health record (EHR).

Through the partnership, Cerner has developed My Anthony Medical Center Chart, an online patient portal. The patient portal is available to help you manage your care privately and securely, when it is convenient for you. Using the portal, you can view any clinic, ER, or hospital discharge information, request and manage your  clinic appointments, send secure messages to your provider, view your lab results, review your medications, and see a summary of your medical information.

According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, only about 20% of family physicians were  using patient portals for appointment scheduling and sharing limited information with patients in 2010. Since then, the EHR concept has become widely accepted and patients want to become more involved in their healthcare.

Anthony Medical Center is driven to find ways to take the patient-centered experience to the next level. “Delivering a true patient-centered experience goes beyond the face-to-face office visit with your doctor, so providing patients with the convenience of 24/7 access to their health information was the next logical step,” said Bryant Anderson, Anthony Medical Center CEO.

My Anthony Medical Center Chart is now available to patients 18 and older. To sign up contact or call Anthony Medical Center at 620-842-5111.
