Our Mission

The mission of the Anthony Hospital Foundation is to secure charitable gift support for the Anthony Medical Center.

The Foundation’s Role

Incorporated in 1992 as a separate organization, the Anthony Hospital Foundation is committed in its mission to support the Anthony Medical Center in meeting the health care needs of the community. The Foundation understands that Anthony Medical Center represents a commitment to the highest quality of health care for our community.

In today’s realities of continually rising costs, shrinking reimbursement and the increasing number of people who need medical attention, the Foundation and its benefactors can make a difference. The Foundation Board of Directors work to preserve and strengthen our community health care system by encouraging support through a variety of charitable giving programs.

Development Categories

The Hospital Foundation has established two types of development categories.

• Permanent endowment funds from which only the earnings will be used

• Unrestricted use fund

Regardless of which development category donors give under, they can be assured that their gift will be administered according to their wishes.

Endowment Fund

A donor’s contribution to the endowment funds will remain in the endowment in perpetuity. The interest or earnings from the donor’s contribution is the only portion that can be used for a specific purpose to be determined by the donor or board of directors.

Unrestricted Use Fund

Unrestricted gifts to the Foundation will be used in a manner that best supports the mission of the Foundation. Unrestricted gifts give donors the opportunity to give to the cause of community healthcare without having to specify how their contribution is used.

Anthony Medical Center’s Role

As one of the largest employers in Harper County, Anthony Medical Center is a major employer of professional and supporting health care workers and a large purchaser of local materials and services. Most importantly, it provides convenient quality healthcare for the community.

As of September 2007, nearly 3,500 patients have been seen in the Outpatient Specialty Clinic. The Primary Care Clinics will provide for almost 10,000 community citizens each year, while the Radiology Department performs over 3,200 procedures and the Lab conducts an astounding 72,000 lab tests! Anthony Medical Center’s ability to provide these services locally, saves patients and their families the stress and unnecessary cost of traveling elsewhere for much needed healthcare services.
